Promotion of research
At the Faculty of Science (MNF) of the University of Zurich, research is promoted through the promotion of individuals or projects. This support is geared toward both young academics as well as advanced and well-established researchers. Special emphasis is placed on funding the younger generation of scientists.

Funding for young researchers
At MNF and the rest of UZH, various approaches are taken to promote the younger generation of scientists and funding is available for both individuals as well as research projects.
Forschungskredit UZH (UZH Research Fund)
The UZH Research Fund supports research projects undertaken by young scientists with outstanding scientific qualifications. Money from the Research Fund is intended for researchers with an MSc, doctoral students, postdoctoral students and students working toward qualification as a lecturer. Several conditions must be fulfilled in order to receive financing from the UZH Research Fund. Applications are assessed by the Research Committee and the Young Academic Research Committee of the University of Zurich. Please also make note of the deadline specified in the call for funding applications.

Nachwuchsförderungskredit UZH (Research Fund for Young Academics) / Stiefel-Zangger Foundation
Postdoctoral researchers from UZH can apply for a grant from this institute to visit either a university abroad or another Swiss university. Applications will be reviewed by the Young Academic Support Committee. Please make note of the conditions that apply and the application submission deadline.

Ambizione is a research funding program operated by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). This program is geared toward postdoctoral fellows with a desire to conduct their own research project at a Swiss university. Please refer to the relevant SNSF conditions.

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) offers professorships every year. This program is geared toward researchers who have already completed their doctorate and have several years of research experience both in Switzerland and abroad.

Swiss National Science Foundation: project funding
The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) uses research funds to finance independent basic research. Researchers working in Switzerland can submit a funding request. The UZH Research Committee will review the infrastructure-related issues and forward their findings to SNSF. Please make note of the application submission deadlines. Foundation for Scientific Research at UZH
The Foundation for Scientific Research at UZH promotes scientific research and teaching in all disciplines. Research projects should be carried out by, or proposed and led by lecturers of the university.
