CERN and the Large Hadron Collider - News from the Energy Frontier

Public lecture

BOOST2016 is the eighth of a series of  joint theory/experiment workshops that bring together the world's leading experts from theory and LHC experiments. On July 19 there will be a public lecture.

Tuesday, 19. July 2016, 19:30: Public Lecture with Prof. Jon Butterworth

In the course of the BOOST 2016 workshop held from July 18 to July 22 at the University of Zurich and ETH Prof. Jon Butterworth will hold a public lecture on "CERN and the Large Hadron Collider - News from the Energy Frontier":

After its nobel-prize winning discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, the Large Hadron Collider at Cern is now colliding particles together at even higher energies. What are we hoping to learn now and why? What is going on at the "energy frontier"? Jon Butterworth, professor of physics at UCL, author and Guardian writer, member of the Atlas collaboration at Cern will do his best to explain:
