At the Faculty of Science (MNF) we are proud to be UZH’s second largest and fastest growing faculty.

Our researchers can be found among Thomson Reuter’s ranking of most influential scientific minds. Due to the intense collaborations we share with UZH’s Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital we are among the top ranked research institutions within Europe in Life Sciences.  We are home of the World  Glacier Monitoring Service, the Kalahari Research Station, South Africa and a number of competence centers. Our scientists can be found doing field research in the cold tundra in Siberia, Borneo’s tree tops in the jungle, at the shores of the Galapagos or in the Mongolian desert.
