Nuclearia is protist of the year 2019 declares DGP

Nuclearia

The German Society for Protozoology (DGP) decided in favor of UZH-researcher Thomas Posch and declared Nuclearia to be the protist of the year 2019.

The German Society of Protozoology (DGP) is the European expert organisation for research regarding protists. For 10 years DGP has declared a protist of the year ,in order to make these unique life forms better known.  This year's choice fell on  Nuclearia, a protist suggested by UZH-limnologist Thomas Posch. Posch and collegues produced a flyer presenting Nuclearia (PDF, 772 KB) in detail.
