Forschungspreise

  • Dr. Sofia Forss, Postdoktorandin am Institut für Evolutionsbiologie und Umweltwissenschaften, erhielt für ihr Forschungsprojekt «The Ape Research Index» den Early Career Award der Einstein Foundation.
  • Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Ernst, Titularprofessor und Empa Senior Scientist, erhielt den Microbeam Analysis Award der Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science.
  • Prof. Dr. Bernhard Schmid, emeritierter Professor am Institut für Geographie erhielt den Zhongguancun International Cooperation Award der Stadt Peking. 
  • Prof. Dr. Oliver Ullrich, MNF/MeF Doppelprofessor, hat bei der Reef Starter Innovation Challenge den ersten Preis gewonnen.
  • Prof. Dr. Ben Schuler, Professor für Molekulare Biophysik (MeF/MNF), erhält den Kazuhiko Kinosita Award 2023 in Single‐Molecule Biophysics.
  • Dr. Simona Huwiler, Nachwuchsforscherin im Institut für Pflanzen- und Mikrobiologie, erhielt den Swiss Society for Microbiology Encouragement Award.
  • Prof. Dr. Beat Keller, Professor für Pflanzenbiologie, wird neues Mitglied der EMBO, der prestigeträchtigen European Molecular Biology Organization. 
  • Prof. Dr. Magdalini Polymenidou, Ausserordentliche Professorin am Institut für Quantitative Biomedicine, ist NIBR (Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research) Global Scholars 2022.
  • Das UZH iGEM Team hat an der Jamboree in Paris teilgenommen und gewann im Therapeutics Track und den Best Basic Part Award.
  • Dr. Alexandre Dumoulin, Postdoktorand am Institut für Molekularbiologie, gewann den SNSF Scientific Image Competition in der Kategorie 4 – Video loops.
  • Prof. Dr. Corinna Ulcigrai, Professorin am Institut für Mathematik, wurde zur “Hadamard Lecturer of 2022” eingeladen.
  • Prof. Dr. Stephan Neuhauss, Professor am Institut für Molekulare Biologie, hat den Alfred-Vogt-Preis zur Förderung der Augenheilkunde, die höchste Auszeichnung in der Schweiz für Forschung in und um die Ophthalmologie, erhalten.
  • Prof. Dr. Laura Baudis, Professorin für Experimentalphysik, erhielt den Charpak Ritz Price für ihre Beiträge zur Astrophysik und Kosmologie.
  • Prof. Dr. Rémi Abgrall, Professor für Angewandte Mathematik, wurde zum SIAM Fellow 2022 ernannt. Dies ist eine der höchsten Auszeichnungen der Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
  • Prof. Dr. Burkhard Becher, Professor für Experimentelle Immunologie (MeF/MNF), erhielt den Théodore-Ott-Preis 2022.

 

Grants

  • Tomáš Bzdušek erhielt vom SNF einen Starting Grant für das Projekt «New paradigms for topological matter: delicate, multi-gap, hyperbolic». Er wird am Physik-Institut forschen.
  • Rodrigo Camara Leret erhielt vom SNF einen Starting Grant für das Projekt «INDIGENOMICS». Er wird am Institut für Systematische und Evolutionäre Botanik forschen.
  • Silvia Domcke erhielt vom SNF einen Starting Grant für das Projekt «Transcription factor dynamics and occupancy in development». Sie wird am Institut für Molekulare Biologie forschen.
  • Melika Payvad erhält vom SNF einen Starting Grant für das Projekt «UNITE: Brain-inspired device-circuits-algorithm co-design for resource-constrained hardware on the edge». Sie forscht am Institut für Neuroinformatik.
  • Max Zoller erhält vom SNF einen Starting Grant für das Projekt «High-precision scattering amplitudes for the LHC and lepton colliders from automated NNLO calculations». Er wird am Physik-Institut und am Paul Scherrer Institut forschen.
  • Irma Querques, Postdoktorandin am Biochemischen Institut, wurde vom Branco Weiss Fellowship als eine von neun neuen Fellows ausgewählt.
  • Sebastian Jessberger, Professor für Neurowissenschaften (MeF/MNF), erhielt für sein Projekt «Defining molecular and cellular aging trajectories of neural stem cells and their niche in the mammalian brain» einen Advanced Grant des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds.
  • Nicola Serra, Ausserordentlicher Professor für Physik, erhielt für sein Projekt «Playing the Devil’s advocate with the Flavour Anomalies: The Path Towards Discovery» einen Advanced Grant des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds.
  • Andrea Migliano, Professorin für Evolutionäre Anthropologie, erhielt für ihr Forschungsprojekt «Adaptive history of human socio-cognitive development» einen ERC Consolidator Grant.
  • Gerald Schwank, Professor für Translationale Neurowissenschaften (MeF/MNF), erhielt für sein Forschungsprojekt «Establishing DNA double-strand break independent genome editing approaches to treat monogenetic brain disorders» einen ERC Consolidator Grant.
  • Magdalini Polymenidou, Ausserordentliche Professorin am Institut für Quantitative Biomedizin, erhielt für ihr Forschungsprojekt «Analysis of structure-function transitions of TDP-43 for mechanistic understanding of neurodegenerative diseases» einen ERC Consolidator Grant.
