- Prof. Dr. Remi Abgrall has been selected as winner of the ECCOMAS Prandtl Medal for outstanding and sustained contributions to the area of computational fluid dynamics.
- The Air Miles Group of the Department of Geography (GIUZ) received the Team Effort Award. The University of Zurich honours the Air Miles Group for its pioneering role in reducing flight-related emissions at UZH.
- Prof. Dr. Michael Baudis was elected as a member of the Strategic Leadership Committee of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health.
- Prof. Dr. Jean Bertoin was elected to the European Academy of Science.

Grants
- Prof. Dr. Magdalini Polymenidou and Prof. Dr. Martin Müller were awarded a new grant for an interdisciplinary collaboration between their labs to study synaptic dysfunction in ALS. The grant was awarded by the Milken Foundation in the US.
