Applying to Study for a PhD

Important note: If you originate from a foreign country, which is not a member of the European Union it is of utmost importance, that the following procedure is followed exactly as specified below.

1. Application to a doctoral programme at the Faculty of Science
   
2. Application to the Admissions Office of the University of Zurich
3. Visa application for foreign students outside the EU
4. You cannot start work on your doctoral thesis in Zurich until you have obtained a visa and a work permit.

Master's students of the MNF
Students who change from an MNF master's program to a doctoral program do not have to go through the procedure described above.
They only have to change the study lever at the next possible semester enrollment.
