Studying with a Disability
ATTENTION! Starting in the spring semester of 2026, the deadlines for Reasonable Adjustments (NTA) applications will change. Applications relating to compensation for disadvantages (Nachteilsausgleich) in courses must now be submitted to the Office of Student Affairs no later than two weeks before the start of the courses. For the spring semester 2026, the deadline is February 2, 2026 (11:59 PM). For all other applications (assessments/examinations), the deadline according to the Study Regulations applies (end of the fourth week after the start of the lecture period). Further information can be found in the information sheet under "Deadlines" (German only).
Students with a disability or a chronic illness can apply for adjustments to module examinations. To obtain these adjustments, you must contact the Disability Office of the University of Zurich early in the semester. The Office will assess your needs and advise you accordingly. If appropriate, they will then prepare an application for adjustments to be made to your study arrangements (BIAS form).
You can then also use this form to ask the Office of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Science to make appropriate arrangements for your module examinations.
Aninformation sheet (PDF, 58 KB)(German only) explains how to apply and lists the deadlines that need to be met.
