Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) Committee
The Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) Committee of the Faculty of Science is an ad hoc committee of the faculty. It advises the Faculty Assembly, the Faculty Committee, and the Dean on matters relating to EDI, particularly in professorial affairs, the faculty and campus culture, and in other areas not covered by the UZH Gender Equality Commission. It carries out projects independently or on behalf of the Dean's Office or the Faculty Assembly.
The tasks of the MNF Equality, Diversity, Inclusion Committee include:
- Innovating and monitoring professorial appointment and promotion procedures within the Faculty of Science
- Confronting and counteracting unconscious gender bias in all aspects of science research and teaching
- Tracking the career paths of our students and scientists inside and outside of academia
- Promoting family-friendly working conditions
- Close cooperation with the UZH Gender Equality Commission.
The establishment of the Equality Commission was approved by the Faculty Assembly on April 10, 2016.
